Hi a friend has recommended spywear to me as someone has taken over my email address book and keeps sending out messages to all my friends and work mates. I am hoping that this program can help me as I do not know what else to do as I am not very computer savie and will have to close my account down if this problem is not fixed soon. After you download the spybot software, you must install it by double clicking on the downloaded file. Then just follow the instructions.
It is not recommended to install more than one anti-malware software, for example Spybot, AVG, or Spyware Doctor softeware. I personally use Spyware Doctor, because it always seem to find more computer infections than any other software I have used.

I first installed Spybot about 11 years ago. I found it excellent. Successive technicians have repeatedly removed it from my computer without consultation. I do have the paid version of Avast but it doesn’t prevent unauthorised changes to my settings. Is there a conflict with Avast?
Avast is also good software. — But, you should never install more than one anti-spyware software, since there really is no need for double protection and it will slow down your computer too much.

I am trying skybot for the first time, I have seen it reccomended by Computer Mags I have confidence in and respect.
I have spybot on my other computer and I really like it.

Most anti-spyware programs require an internet connection to update the install with the latest anti-virus signatures.
I suggest you download the anti-spyware software (spybot or Spyware Doctor) onto a USB stick, and then reboot your target computer in SAFE mode. This will deactivate most spyware, and you can safely install and clean your computer from any malware.

As for Klabe81, as of today i can’t use the internet properly . It started with being redirected in Firefox and was kind of ok in IE8. Now Firefox is sort of ok and IE8 pages just stay blank…
Am using AVG 8 but the thing killed it. Had difficulties removing it.

My computer has AVG and a “cloud…. program” installed itself and prevented me from doing anything;including running AVG. Running in safe mode I was able to restore and get onto my account. Anti-virus, anti-spyware and anti-malware software are now generally used to mean the same thing.
A few years ago, people used to talk about the differences between virus, spyware, adware, trojans, malware etc, but now it is typically just called malware or spyware. AVG, Spybot, Spyware Doctor, Kaspersky etc generally do the same thing, although a couple of anti-spyware tools to a better job than others.

I am currently using Kespersky, but with that & SPYBOT my systen is slow when in internet.

This optimization of the REGISTRY file will improve performance, but it also depends on how old your computer, how many times you have installed and deleted software on your computer and several other factors.
If you have to choose between Spyware Doctor and System Mechanic, the clear choice is Spyware Doctor – but this software does not improve performance; it simply protects your computer against future malware attacks.
