I am attemting to download Spybot but, the intruder I have been infected with is preventing me. each time I try I get a pop-up on my screen stops whatever I’m doing, even writing this is being interupted, this stops me typing until I remove the pop-up. As for Klabe81, as of today i can’t use the internet properly . It started with being redirected in Firefox and was kind of ok in IE8. Now Firefox is sort of ok and IE8 pages just stay blank…
Am using AVG 8 but the thing killed it. Had difficulties removing it.

I purchased McAfee on line to check for viruses but since then, my computer is so-o-o-o slow I can hardly use it. I’m 80 years old and need some serious, easy to follow instructions or I’m going to have to pack it in I’m afraid.

My computer has AVG and a “cloud…. program” installed itself and prevented me from doing anything;including running AVG. Running in safe mode I was able to restore and get onto my account. I am trying to run Spybot & combofix, I can enter the sites but, when I try to run either of the programs, a report pops up, saying connect to the Internet, or you need a interent connection to run this program, I am connected but can’t use either. do you have any suggestions ?

So just to be clear once I install Spyboot I do not have to download any other anti virus.
Installing more than one anti-virus product will slow down your computer, without adding further protection. Just choose one anti-virus product and relax.
I am biased in favor of Spyware Doctor (which is what I personally use), but you might like to use AVG, Spybot or some other similar software. They are also good. However, Spyware doctor has the best ratings overall, from other web sites and independent test reports.

Anti-virus, anti-spyware and anti-malware software are now generally used to mean the same thing.
A few years ago, people used to talk about the differences between virus, spyware, adware, trojans, malware etc, but now it is typically just called malware or spyware. AVG, Spybot, Spyware Doctor, Kaspersky etc generally do the same thing, although a couple of anti-spyware tools to a better job than others.

I am currently using Kespersky, but with that & SPYBOT my systen is slow when in internet.

I have win7 antivirus 2012 on my daughters computer. I downloaded spy doctor file from my computer to a flash drive. When I insert the flash drive and try and install and run spy doctor, it just comes up with the Win 7Anti virus 2012 message. How do I run spy doctor on the infected computer?

I use spyware doctor with antivirus right now and also system mechanic to keep my computer running fast but i dont think its really running fast. should i just use spyware doctor and uninstall system mechanic?
System mechanic does not find spyware or other computer infections. You should use Spyware Doctor to protect your computer against computer infections that can cause malfunctions – and this has little to do with computer performance or slowdown.
You should use System Mechanic to clean your Windows REGISTRY file, which is the most important file on your computer. This optimization of the REGISTRY file will improve performance, but it also depends on how old your computer, how many times you have installed and deleted software on your computer and several other factors.
If you have to choose between Spyware Doctor and System Mechanic, the clear choice is Spyware Doctor – but this software does not improve performance; it simply protects your computer against future malware attacks.
